A quick update good people. We have been quiet on the airwaves over the last couple of months due to sourcing a new provider (found one! Looks great, increased storage and zero emission company) sorting licenses for more territories around the world. We are 90% of what we need to do complete.
Thank you to you generous humans who have already donated. We are a third of the way to our target already.
In order to bring you the best service we can we are asking (if you are able to) to spot us a quid or two to help us. If each member donated just £1 we would be funded for this year and beyond!
Button Down Radio has been championing ska and Northern Soul since 2016. We try our hardest to promote new and unsigned bands and spread the message of ska as far as we can. Since the demise of Radionomy, we have been responsible for the broadcasting licence fees which aren't cheap. We would never expect anyone to pay to listen to our service, but these fees are now limiting our ability to broadcast and how much new music can buy. Last year cost over a thousand pounds to broadcast and there's only little old me, a hard working teacher with a passion for that off beat riddim.
First of all, we would prefer you spent your money buying albums from the bands we play and going to their gigs (when we are allowed to again) and buying their merch. However, if you have listened in the past and would like to hear your favourite music again. Please consider, if you are able to, donating a pound or two so that artists can benefit from licensing fees.
